DNA calc software supports graphical files in formats bmp, pcx, tiff (256 gray scale) as well as Nanoscope*) file formats. It automatically draws the line along a contour of a chosen DNA and measures its current length along with the distances between labels you put on DNA. The drawn line may be easily edited at measurements. The distributions of sets of distances measured from the beginning of the molecule to labels as well as the distances between adjacent labels are displayed in several histogram windows just at the measurements; the current contour being highlighted by a colour in these distributions. The obtained distributions are saved in Log.txt files and may be used in other specialized mathematical software for further analyses. ---*) Nanoscope is a trade name of Veeco company.
Comments to demo version of DNA calc.
To estimate the ability of DNA-calc you should download the archive DnacalcDemo.zip. It contains:
-
Exe-file Dnacalcd.exe;
-
Three files with DNA-s images, which can be loaded by Dnacalcd.exe with the names Dna1.001, Dna2.001 and Dna3.tif. Files Dna1.001, Dna2.001 are Nanoscope-II files with the pixel size of 400*400 and Dna3.tif is the image in graphical tif format with the size 981*583 pixels in 256 gray scale.
-
Help file DNAcalc_Help.doc in a format of MSWord for Windows which explains how to operate with DNA calc,
-
File DNAcalc windows.jpg - the image of DNA-calc interface with a view of three main windows of the program and its features.
The full feature operation of DNA-calc (the drawing of red lines along contours, their editing, putting labels, histograms visualization and saving the results) can be tested by opening three supplied files Dna1- Dna3 by Dnacalcd. |
