NT-MDT at the Prize Presentation Ceremony of the “Science Is Beautiful!” Competition

“Science Is Beautiful!” – The photographic competition aimed to create a new view at Russian science and technology, to develop creative approach in the scientific areas, and express its individual unique image of science.

The competition was organized by “Science and Technology of Russia” Publishing with support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Federal Agency for Science and Innovations of the Russian Federation and Russia PhotoArtists Union. NT-MDT was not only the general sponsor, but also an organizer of a special nomination.

The participants of the competition – scientific specialists and experts – presented their photos taken during scientific process, research and developments.

NT-MDT, inspired by success of the previous events, organized a special nomination “Hardware Esthetics” for photos with artistic image of equipment. Thus the competition unites three spheres of social activity: science, art and technology, which could be named as practical embodiment of the previous two.

The prize presentation ceremony of the science photography competition “Science Is Beautiful!” was held on the 22nd of May, 2009 in the Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Hall. Among more than 500 participants only fourteen authors were awarded with prizes and valuable gifts.

Nikita Gusakov and Oleg Ilyin were the winners of the “Hardware Esthetic” nomination for their photo of the unique multifunctional ultra high-vacuum facility NANOFAB 100, installed in Taganrog Technological Institute (South State University).

NT-MDT Company hopes that the participation in the special nomination helped all the competitors to find a new point of view at the ordinary things, to open and emphasize the uniqueness of the equipment and fascination of the research process.
