ProIMAGE Contest 2010

NT-MDT Co. invites the users of SPM equipment to participate in the open contest of the probe images.

ProIMAGE Contest is a competition of images obtained with NT-MDT probes. The Contest is open to anyone over the age of 18, currently using SPM and being NT-MDT probes customer.

ProIMAGE Contest 2010 starts at the 1-st of August 2010 till the 31-st of January 2011. The Top-10 and the winner of the month are defined by open vote. The month winner will receive $1000 certificate. All the Top-10 of each month will reach the final. In the final the jury will give out the results of the ProIMAGE Contest 2010 and the winners will be awarded:

• USD 1000 for the third place
• USD 1500 for the second place
• USD 2500 for the first place!

The name of the First month winner will be known at the end of September.

Last year ProIMAGE Contest was held in June – December 2009.

The participants from all over the world submitted the images obtained with NT-MDT probes. The scientists from 15 countries and 3 continents participated in the competition. The number of votes per one image rose to 9000.

Every month the winner from top-10 images rewarded $1000 certificate. Every author of top-10 got valuable prizes.

The competition collected the images showing the probes application for researching the different objects: cells, molecules and atoms of the organic and non-organic materials, for example minerals, soil, bacteria, tobacco smoke etc. The results were scientifically important and aesthetically interesting. The Contest impressed the participants and NT-MDT specialists very much.

Dr. Mikhail Shaleev, the researcher of Institute for Physics of Microstructures Russian Academy of Sciences, Russia.

• September

“Moon landscape”, the image of calcium carbonate surface after processing by EDTA solution. Scan size is 5 x 5 µm. Dr. Boris Tikhonov, Tver State Technical University, Russia. Used probe: CSG10		“Vdovichev`s snowflake”, the image of erosion process on CoCu thin film surface Scan size: 5,8 x 5,8 µm. Dr. Boris Gribkov, Institute for Physics of Microstructures RAS, Russia.
